The city of Camden and Central Carolina Technical College (CCTC) may partner to develop a new tourism visitor center to be built on a small piece of property the city recently purchased from the Historic Camden Foundation on South Broad Street. Camden City Council will consider the matter following an executive session during its meeting tonight. According to a resolution and an agreement attached to tonight’s proposed agenda, CCTC would provide $5 million in funding -- the remainder of Fiscal Year 2017 funding CCTC received from the state for a Workforce Development Center, a portion of which was used for the expansion of CCTC’s Kershaw County campus during the 2018 fiscal year.
