Camden could issue bonds for sports complex
Placeholder Image
As Camden City Council continues to find ways to fund its proposed sports complex, members will consider passing a non-binding resolution Tuesday declaring the city’s intent to reimburse itself by issuing tax exempt bonds. The proposal is contained in a letter to council by the Pope Zeigler law firm, the city’s legal consultant on such matters. The letter makes no mention of using hospitality taxes to construct the sports complex despite the firm’s having advised the city it could have legally done so.
