Camden council considering ‘no truck zones’ ordinance
Truck Route Sign
A new S.C. Department of Transportation sign designates Ehrenclou Drive near Camden High School as part of Camden’s official truck route. Camden City Council will be considering an ordinance today that would create “no truck zones” so that through trucks simply passing through the city would be required to use the truck route. Today, Camden City Council will consider an ordinance amending sections of the city’s traffic code to designate “no truck zones” prohibiting through trucks with more than six wheels from driving on those streets. Through trucks are those simply passing through the city without stopping to conduct any business. The changes would further require drivers of such trucks to follow signs posted by the S.C.
