“The room got kind of quiet,” Mel Pearson said as he took his seat in the Revolutionary War Visitor Center’s Liberty Hall, eliciting a round of laughter from the at least 150 people present in his honor as the city of Camden dedicated a Leaders Legacy bench in the former city manager’s name. “Somebody show up? Did I miss something?”
