On another 4-1 split vote, with Councilman X. Willard Polk opposing, Camden City Council voted Tuesday morning to pass second and final reading of an ordinance creating a redevelopment project area. The area, also being referred to as a tax incremental financing, or TIF, district, is a 127-acre swath of Camden along West DeKalb Street the city has declared in need of improvement. The city plans to use current tax assessments on properties within the district as a baseline.
