CCC splits on design guidelines rewrite bid

A majority of Camden City Council voted Tuesday night to award a more than $47,000 bid to a Colorado firm to rewrite design guidelines used by the Camden Historic Landmarks Commission (CHLC). An attempt to table the vote failed, 2-3, followed by a lengthy discussion and a 3-2 vote to award the bid to Winter & Company of Boulder, Colo. The award comes one full year after council received a previous rewrite of the guidelines by the city’s then-historic preservation consultant, Carrie Giauque.
