The city of Camden Historic Landmarks Commission awards ceremony, recognizing homes, businesses and individuals for preserving Camden’s history and heritage, will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 22 at City Hall in the courtroom. The award recipients this year include the following: Community Impact Award Marty Daniels and Barbara McCarthy, “Mary Chesnut’s Illustrated Diary” -- Mulberry Edition Boxed Set This award is perhaps the most prestigious award that is given each year and recognizes an individual/or group for outstanding contributions that have made a significant impact on preserving the city of Camden’s Heritage. Restoration Excellence Award McLean House circa 1890 -- Mullikin Law Firm 1308 Broad St. This award is given each year and recognizes a historic property and owner for preserving Camden’s heritage through historically in-keeping restoration and rehabilitation of both the interior and exterior façade of a designated Landmark Property.
