City considering incentives for new Springhill Suites
Springhill Suites Site
An aerial view of the site where a new Springhill Suite by Marriott is being built (outlined in yellow) taken from the Kershaw County geographic information mapping system. The building next to it is the Hampton Inn, which is owned by the same company -- Laxmi Ma Hotel Inc. -- building the new Springhill Suites. The city of Camden will consider first reading of an ordinance that would grant certain economic development inducements, including reimbursement of up to $20,000 in tap fees and the installation of four parking lot light poles on the property.
Among the items on today’s Camden City Council agenda is first reading of an ordinance that, if approved on second/final reading, would authorize an inducement agreement between the city of Camden and Laxmi Ma Hotel Inc. for its future Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel on Wall Street off of U.S. 521.
