The chilly, rainy weather didn’t dampen the warm spirits of those who gathered Sept. 24 in Hampton Park to honor much beloved pediatrician Dr. Curtis Watkins. The ceremony, part of the city of Camden’s Leader’s Legacy Recognition Program, officially dedicated a memorial bench to Watkins for his years of service to the community. The bench is located next to another bench dedicated to Watkins’ long-time friend and fellow physician, Dr. Francis McCorkle.
