City may buy former restaurant, bank building
1035 Broad Street
Camden City Council will enter executive session today to consider authorizing the city to purchase this former S.C. National Bank building at 1035 Broad St., which was most recently the home of Hifalutin restaurant. The current owners are 1035 Broad Street LLC, formed by former Camden City Council member Laurie Parks and her husband, Westley.
Camden City Council will meet twice in executive session during its meeting today, with one of those sessions begin held to discuss the proposed purchase by the city of Camden of 1035 Broad St. The building most recently served as the home of Hifalutin, which opened in late Oct. 2013. In Sept. 2019, the Kershaw County Treasurer’s Office seized the property due to a 2018 tax liability of $7,745 that had gone unpaid.
