The Kershaw County Transportation Committee (KCTC) is providing the city of Camden’s truck bypass project an unexpected boost: $500,000 in state C-funds. During Tuesday’s Camden City Council meeting, City Manager Mel Pearson said the S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) recently informed the KCTC its request for the $500,000 allocation had been approved. The project, which will build and establish an enforceable truck route around and away from downtown Camden, will be done in three phases.
