City solicits architectural firms for YMCA project

Although Camden City Council hasn’t officially decided to build a possibly YMCA of Columbia-run recreation center, city officials have already solicited architectural and engineering firms for their qualifications to build the facility. Tuesday, Councilman Willard Polk noted the city’s June 15 posting of a Request for Qualifications, or RFQ, for the project. Polk said the June 15 date was the day after the second and third of three public meetings regarding the proposal.
