City weathers storms

Despite being drenched with nearly 15 inches of rain, the city of Camden seems to have weathered last week’s record deluge fairly well. Camden City Manager Mel Pearson said city utility crews began responding to power outages around 7:45 p.m. Oct. 2 and worked all through the night until about midday Oct. 3. The rains continued, but the city did not have any significant problems again until Oct. 4, after two days of constant rain.
