A planned development for Beechwood, a proposed retirement center, is coming under scrutiny from concerned citizens, including an organization which initially had not opposed it. Preserve Camden, a group of Camden citizens whose stated mission is to help ensure responsible growth in the city of Camden, ran a letter stating the group’s concerns in an advertisement placed in Tuesday’s edition of the Chronicle-Independent. The city of Camden approved a Planned Development District zoning designation for the 65-acre property, located on Knights Hill Road, in June.
