Daughter of 1990 champion CHS football team member stars on CBS’ The Equalizer
Laya with Latifah
Laya Deleon Hayes (left) and Queen Latifah are all smiles while filming an episode of CBS’ reboot of The Equalizer that premiered after the SuperBowl. Latifah plays Robyn McColl while Laya plays her daughter, Delilah. Laya’s father, Kevin, was a wide receiver on Camden High School’s 1990 championship football team. Four episodes of the new series have aired so far. Laya said she and the cast are about halfway through filming the first season, after a seven-month delay in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. If the young lady playing Queen Latifah’s TV daughter, Delilah, on CBS’ new reimagining of The Equalizer seems familiar, it may be because you’ve seen her in commercials as well as other television shows like Cougar Town, Grey’s Anatomy, and Chicago Fire.
