Jazz at the Center breaks new ground this weekend
Nat King Cole tribute kicks off three-day festival
Jazz - Gino Castillo
Camden will come alive with the sounds of jazz this weekend. Featured artists include Mark Peterson (photo 1), Scott Giddens (photo 2) and Howard Paul (photo 3) who will perform at Fridays opening show at the Wood Auditorium, while Gino Castillo (photo 4) will have two Saturday shows at the Venue on Broad.
By day, Howard Paul sits behind his desk as President and CEO of Benedetto Guitars Inc. in Savannah, Ga. When day turns into night, off goes the worries about the bottom line as the executive flips the switch on that of jazz guitar virtuoso as he plays gigs alongside the giants of the industry. And, for those few hours, the Atlantic City, N.J., native can leave the rigors of the office behind. What Paul’s dual roles also does is to leave him little free time in a day which probably can use a few more hours added to the 24.
