Camden Mayor Alfred Mae Drakeford took some time near the end of Tuesday’s Camden City Council meeting to speak on a subject that wasn’t able to make it on to the official agenda. During a portion of the meeting set aside for other business, Drakeford reported that the Rev. Ed Stokes, one of two Kershaw County Silver-Haired Representatives, visited her June 8 about having council approve a proclamation naming June as Elder Abuse Month at Tuesday’s meeting. Unfortunately, Drakeford said, Tuesday’s agenda had already been set by then.
