Meet Me at the Green
Concert to be first event at Town Green

Completion of Camden’s new Town Green is just weeks away, and the city and a local business have already made plans for the venue’s first major event. Camden City Council will vote Tuesday on an ordinance authorizing the consumption of wine and beer during “Meet Me at the Green,” between 4 and 10 p.m. Saturday, April 23 -- a free concert sponsored by the city and Old Towne Tavern. Operating as Where I’m From LLC, Old Towne Tavern proprietors Travis Maynard and musician/songwriter Patrick Davis are asking not only for permission to serve beer and wine during that time, but to shut down a short portion of Rutledge Street from the Broad Street intersection to the Town Green’s entrance between noon and midnight that day in order to prepare and stage the event.
