Nuclear plant equipment reroutes traffic on Camdens Broad street
A deaerator disrupted traffic on Wednesday on Broad Street.
A 605,000 pound piece of equipment traveling to V.C. Summer Nuclear plant in Fairfield County made an appearance in Camden on Wednesday. Traffic on York Street and Broad Street was rerouted around 11 a.m. so that the part -- a deaerator -- could get on I-20 West. SCANA’s South Carolina Electrical and Gas (SCE&G) and Santee Cooper are building two new reactors in Jenkinsville at V.C. Summer, SCANA Corp.’s Public Affairs Manger Eric Boomhower said.
