Peaceful protest at courthouse
Some of the 50 to 70 people who gathered for a peaceful protest of police brutality hold up signs in front of the Kershaw County Courthouse a little after 4 p.m. Monday. The event lasted about 90 minutes and included speeches and a police-escorted march to Camden City Hall where more speeches were made. Organizers said they decided to hold the peaceful event following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minn., and the violent outbursts that resulted. (Martin L. Cahn/C-I)
A large group of African American, white and other people gathered in front of the Kershaw County Courthouse around 4 p.m. Monday. With words and silence, they sought justice for all people, but especially blacks.
