Polk announces again for Camden City Council
Polk Mugshot WEB
X. Willard Polk
X. Willard Polk, Jr., who stepped down from city council in 2014, will run again for Camden City Council this November. Four candidates are running for two seats being vacated by Alfred Mae Drakeford and Laurie Parks, both of whom are running for mayor. Polk said his concerns now are much the same as they were when he successfully ran for City Council in 2010: fiscal responsibility, a more open and responsive government, maintenance of green spaces, historic preservation, progress with responsible growth, and the security and peace of the community, particularly with regard to the interaction of the community and public safety officers in light of the national awareness of this.
