Camden City Council will take up first reading of a couple of property deals as well as second and final readings to changes to the zoning ordinance during its regularly scheduled meeting tonight. Council will consider first reading of an ordinance to accept donation of 529 DeKalb St. The former site of Hazelwood Cleaners falls into the city’s stated goal of acquiring vacant and dilapidated properties and buildings for the purpose of long range planning and development. Council will also consider first reading of an ordinance allowing for the swap of a property the city owns at 1074 Ehrenclou Drive with a 3-acre portion of a tract at 1000 York St. owned by the Kershaw County School District.
