Public hearing on proposed redevelopment area Tuesday

Camden residents will get to have their say about whether the city of Camden should create a nearly 127-acre redevelopment project area, which will also be designated as a tax increment financing, or TIF, district. Camden City Council will hold a public hearing on the matter Tuesday evening during part of a “super-meeting,” combining a work session at 5 p.m. and a regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. The public hearing is scheduled for shortly after the beginning of the 6:30 p.m. regular meeting. In an unusual move, council will consider first reading of an ordinance establishing the redevelopment project area following the public hearing.
