People driving or walking downtown on Broad Street between DeKalb and York streets have likely noticed new mid-block crosswalks recently painted by the S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT). Camden City Manager Mel Pearson reported on the new crosswalks during Camden City Council’s meeting Tuesday evening. The crosswalks are not yet open, but by Wednesday morning, SCDOT crews had installed flexible yellow signs along Broad Street’s center line to identify the crosswalks for drivers.
