The Kershaw County Diamonds step team will headline, but not compete in, Saturday’s step show and competition. Doors open at 5 p.m. at Camden High School’s gymnasium with the show starting at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.

The competition will feature step teams vying for cash prizes and the Camden Mayor’s Cup. Among the featured teams is The Royal Diamonds, which placed second at the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association step show. Other teams include the Envy-Us Steppers and Misses’ Ladies In Action, X-Clusive Metro Steppers, Lower Richland Diamond Dawgs, the Kappa League and the return of Onyx.

Also starring Saturday night is Jalen (Clark Atlanta) Loney.

The first place high school step team will receive $400, with $150 and $100 prizes going to the second and third place teams, respectively. Middle school teams will receive prizes as well.
