If your electric bill seems higher than usual this month, that’s because it probably is higher. July 2015 was the warmest month on record for the entire Earth dating back to January 1880, according to a state of the climate report by the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). More specifically, high temperatures over many days cause air conditioners to run almost constantly, which translates to a higher electric bill, Camden City Manager Mel Pearson said.
