Transformer fire shuts down power in Camden

A mid morning blaze at a city of Camden electric substation shut down power in parts of the city for more than two hours Friday. The Camden Fire Department (CFD) received its first call about a fire at the South Camden substation, just off Black River Road, at 10:42 a.m. according to Assistant Chief Eddie Gardner. CFD and Camden Department of Public Works crews arrived on the scene and shortly after their arrival, the blaze died went out on its own.
