The city of Camden is on schedule and on budget to complete a new wastewater treatment plant mandated by the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC). Sam Davis, Camden’s assistant director of public works, said pre-construction work at the plant is going as expected so that the plant can be finished by Jan. 31, 2014. The city of Camden received a 19-1/2 month extension in June 2010 to build the treatment plant, giving enough time, Davis said, to properly design and construct the new facility.
