What should have been
Trikes against the wall at the old Jackson School (current Wateree Actions Head Start and Kershaw County Continuous Learning Center) at the corner of Campbell and DeKalb streets in Camden. (Salley McInerney/C-I)
This story was originally meant to be about a horse named Dancer -- a beautiful Hanoverian mare who happens to be blind but whose owner, Mandy Huckins, rides her around a ring at a barn near Camden’s steeplechase grounds like there is no such thing as darkness.
