Hundreds of people gathered on Barfield Road north of Elgin on Sunday afternoon and evening, enough to form nearly 30 ground search teams and several mobile teams, the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said, to search for 6-year-old Jonathan Mallard. People also shared the KCSO’s original Facebook post and photographs of Jonathan at least 2,000 times to help spread the word that the young non-verbal autistic boy was missing.
