The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) arrested a Bethune man on Friday, charging him with attempted murder after allegedly attacking another man with a knife. According to a KCSO press release, Sheriff Jim Matthews said Larry Darnell Johnson, 57, of Mulberry Drive, Bethune, allegedly cut his victim across the chest with a knife, barely missing the other man’s carotid artery. Matthews said Johnson and the victim had been drinking together at a Bethune residence when they got into an argument over crack cocaine.
