Bond denied for 3 suspects in fatal home robbery

Three of the five men charged in connection with the May 16 murder of a Camden man will remain behind bars. On Thursday morning, Circuit Court Judge G. Thomas Cooper Jr. denied bond for Frank Singleton III, Jerome Lewis and Arthur Macklin III. The three men are charged in the shooting death of 39-year-old Michael Hayes, along with two counts of kidnapping, armed robbery, burglary, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and criminal conspiracy. Curtis Drakeford -- who has also been charged with murder, armed robbery, burglary, two counts of kidnapping, conspiracy to commit kidnapping and criminal conspiracy – was granted $100,000 surety bond, and was ordered to have no contact with any other defendant in the case or any members of the victim’s family.
