A Camden woman pled guilty Wednesday in federal court to filing false tax returns using other people’s identifying information without their authority. South Carolina U.S. Attorney Bill Nettles said in a press release that Penny Maria Smith, 51, of Camden, pled guilty to an “information charging fraud with identification documents.” Nettles said U.S. District Judge Cameron McGowan Currie accepted Smith’s plea and will impose sentence on November 19.
