Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies arrested a Camden man Sheriff Jim Matthews said is a “career criminal” after a chase Tuesday morning. According to a KCSO press release, Derrick Tywan Shannon, 34, led officers on a lengthy pursuit inside the Camden city limits after a KCSO traffic officer, funded by a DUI grant, saw Shannon run a stop sign. The deputy attempted to stop Shannon, who drove away and led deputies and Camden Police Department officers on a chase.
