Elgin man allegedly threatens officer

Elgin Police Department (EPD) officers arrested a 37-year-old Elgin man on several charges after responding to a fight in progress on the evening of April 3 in the Food Lion parking lot off Main Street. According to an EPD report, officers charged the man with third-degree assault, public disorderly conduct and intimidation/threatening the life of a public official. When the responding officer arrived on the scene, she saw the man being detained by a Housing Authority officer and that his face was covered in blood and that blood was on the ground around him.
