Hartsville man arrested for Bethune U-Haul thefts

A Hartsville man is in the Kershaw County Detention Center (KCDC) on charges related to the theft of two U-Haul trailers in Bethune after being released on bond from the Darlington County Detention Center on related charges. Bethune Police Chief Joey Cobb reported video surveillance from the Exxon station at the corner of U.S. 1 and Hwy. 341 showed Harley Kenworth Segars, 21, take a trailer at approximately 1:15 a.m. April 5. Cobb said the fact Segars drives a distinctive bright red 1952 Dodge pickup aided in his capture.
