Camden officers arrested a 37-year-old Mullins man with grand larceny on April 12 following a traffic stop by a Kershaw County deputy after reports of a utility trailer being stolen from Kershaw County Recreation Department (KCRD) headquarters on West DeKalb Street. According to a CPD report, video footage at the KCRD showed Derrick Demond Davis driving a dark blue minivan into a gated equipment storage area around 4:40 p.m. The vehicle backed into the far corner of the lot where Davis is seen getting out of the van, walking to the back of the building and backing up the van a little farther. Davis is then reportedly seen getting out and going to the rear of the building where the trailer appears to move closer to the van.
