Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies arrested two Columbia residents suspected of shoplifting from a West DeKalb Street discount store April 14 following a high-speed chase that ended in Richland County. According to a KCSO report, deputies spotted Cynthiah Archie, 35, of Greene Street and Orlando Rodrick Gladney, of Jasmine Lane on U.S. 1 near Winter Way in Lugoff after dispatchers relayed a description of their vehicle. A deputy pursued the vehicle towards Elgin at speeds reported at up to 100 mph with the suspects passing other vehicles by crossing a double yellow line, forcing oncoming traffic off the road.
