Habitual DUI offender nabbed by sheriffs deputy

The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) arrested a charged a Lugoff man with a fifth DUI offense, along with other charges, after he led deputies on a chase early Sunday. According to a KCSO press release, a deputy spotted William James English, 43, of Dinkins Road, Lugoff, cross the center line on U.S. 1 in Lugoff at approximately 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The deputy attempted a traffic stop only to have English speed away, driving through several neighborhoods in an attempt to elude the deputy.
