The Kershaw County Department of Safety and Emergency Services/Code Enforcement is cautioning residents to be wary of a crew of criminals impersonating code enforcement officers in order to steal dogs from their owners. Director Gene Faulkenberry issued a statement recently saying two men and a woman in a white Ford pickup truck had pulled their scam in the Lugoff and Cassatt areas of the county. Faulkenberry said legitimate code enforcement officers wear navy blue uniforms with a Department of Safety and Emergency Services patch on both arms of the shirt.
