Police investigators with railway owner CSX are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever placed a yellow bulldozer on the railroad tracks in Lugoff on Aug. 5 that caused a CSX train to derail early that morning. The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO), CSX Police and CrimeStoppers issued a press release Tuesday asking for the public to help them identify any suspects who caused the train derailment. KCSO deputies were among those who responded to the derailment in the area of U.S. 601 and Medfield Road in Lugoff.
