Driver in Sept. 2 double fatality charged

The Columbia man whose SUV crashed head-on into a sedan on Sept. 2 causing the deaths of a young man and woman is now being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center without bond on three of four charges. The S.C. Highway Patrol (SCHP) is charging Dominick Maurice Booker, 28, of Charles Ferry Drive, Columbia, with two counts of felony DUI resulting in death, and one count each of felony DUI resulting in great bodily injury and driving under suspension. The SCHP arrested Booker following his release from a Columbia hospital for the injuries he suffered in the deadly crash.
