An Elgin Police Department (EPD) officer responded to the Dollar General on Main Street just before 10 p.m. Sept. 13 for a shoplifting incident. When the officer arrived, employees said the suspects -- whom they said were two white females and two Black males -- were getting into a dark-colored Chevy SUV that was getting on Main Street at a high rate of speed.
