An Elgin man is behind bars, charged with attempted murder, after he allegedly tried to run over two people with a pickup truck. According to a Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) press release, at about 9 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, KCSO deputies arrested Steven Wayne Lee Jr., of Watts Hill Road, Elgin, on arrest warrants charging him with two counts of attempted murder. According to the press release, on Dec. 1, at about 9:30 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a residence on Watts Hill Road following the report that two individuals had been intentionally run over by a GMC pickup truck being operated by Steven Lee Jr. Responding deputies interviewed the two victims, who stated that following a verbal altercation between Lee and themselves at a residence on Watts Hill Road, Lee departed in his truck, drove down the road, turned around, and drove off the road into a front yard where the two victims were standing.
