Ernst pleads guilty to CDV

Former Elgin Town Councilman Norman “Bubba” Ernst pled guilty in early October to two counts of criminal domestic violence (CDV) charges filed against him in March of this year. The Chronicle-Independent learned of the plea earlier this week. Kershaw County Chief Magistrate Judge Roderick M. Todd sentenced Ernst on one of the two counts to 30 days in jail suspended upon completion of 26 weeks of domestic abuse counseling.
