A Kershaw County man’s attempt to gain sympathy from his ex-girlfriend by claiming he was robbed and cut by an attacker has resulted in his own arrest by the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO). Steven Paul Barnett, 33, of Old Stagecoach Road, was charged with Filing a False Police Report/Felony after calling 911 Tuesday to report a man had attempted to rob him and cut him on the face while he was working at a Lockhart Road store near the Lancaster County line, according to Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews. KCSO deputies responded to the scene, along with a team of investigators and the bloodhound team.
