Former Legion treasurer may have stolen more money

A Lugoff man already charged with stealing money from the American Legion post where he was treasurer has been accused of stealing more money over a longer period of time. Jerry Lee Poole, 64, was arrested and charged in August 2010 of writing checks to himself or otherwise withdrawing more than $51,000 from Lugoff’s Larry Jeffers American Legion Post 195’s building fund. Allegedly, Poole was using the money to maintain a gambling habit.
