Heart attack killed truck driver

A 72-year-old Lake City man driving an 18-wheeler died of a massive heart attack, causing the truck to go off the road and overturn on S.C. 341 (Bethune Road) on Thursday morning. According to Kershaw County Coroner David West, 72-year-old Arnette Barfield, of Lake City, was heading back to Lake City after picking up a load in Charlotte, N.C. West said the call came into dispatchers just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday. West said Barfield was heading south on S.C. 341 when he suffered the heart attack.
