Heavy rains in Kershaw County caused damage to the roof and ceiling of a Lugoff business Tuesday night. According to Lugoff Fire-Rescue (LF-R) Chief Dennis Ray, Brown’s Special Touch, a barber shop in a strip mall on the 600 block of U.S. 1 in Lugoff, reported the roof had failed and water was pouring into the building around 9 p.m. LF-R crews arrived and found the roof and interior ceiling had fallen in due to the heavy rain that fell quickly Tuesday evening. Ray said firefighters helped the owner protect items inside the business from water damage and the electric power was cut off for safety.
