A car clocked at 99 mph on I-20 Tuesday afternoon set off a pursuit by the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) traffic unit into Lee County and the eventual arrest of a Fort Lawn man on parole for burglary and wanted on multiple assault charges from Cayce. The traffic unit was patrolling I-20 when a 2006 Honda registered on the radar at 99 mph, according to Sheriff Jim Matthews. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle driven by 21-year-old Jeffery Cox, but he continued to speed into Lee County where deputies there joined the chase.
